Cynthia Kay Ph.D. Founder and Counselor

Cynthia Kay is a doctor of philosophy in psychology, a licensed professional counselor, a board-approved supervisor in the State of Texas, a Master Addiction Counselor and a Substance Abuse Professional. She has spent the last 20 years helping individuals who face mental health, relationship, and addiction issues. In both clinical and executive positions at a residential treatment facility, and now in her own group practice, Cynthia witness clients transform their crisis- and challenge-filled present lives into functional and fulfilling futures. Cynthia has been featured on "My 600 lbs Life" working as counselor helping individuals with the emotional aspect of binge eating. She works in private practice seeing clients for individual, couples and family therapy as well as working as an on-site therapist for a law firm, working on both a federal and city contract, conducting seminars and webinars for employer assistance programs, and supervising interns for licensing.

 

Cynthia has a Ph.D. in psychology from Walden University a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Southern University.
